ecoMentors Program

Elementary classes or environmental clubs in grade 1 - 6 will receive the assistance of an energetic and eager high school student to help enhance the environmental learning of the class. The high school student will deliver fun and engaging 1 hr lesson plans on a variety of topics that link to the Ontario Curriculum in Science and Technology and Social Studies according to the Integrated Environmental Education Framework of Ontario.

The program consists of:

Provides a trained, responsible and motivated student with the ability to work effectively and professionally in elementary classroom.
Enhances elementary students' environmental learning by having a new voice in the classroom who can engage students in different ways and offers additional support for environmental learning activities.
Helps high school students to explore their career interests, develop job-skills and fulfill their community involvement hours.

Earth Day Canada also offers the EcoKids Program and the Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program.
